Jeffrey Shackell will be giving an illustrated introduction about Major lnd’s photographic style and a little bit more about him discovered during research for the new book. This will lead in to announcing the winner of’ our Major Ind photographic competition.
After the tea break Trevor Smallbone will present a selection of previously unseen working day / early preservation photographs from several recently bequeathed photographic archives including the Geoff Hodges and Derek Stoyel collections.
The room will be available from 1:00pm onward for a 1.30pm start with a mid-afternoon break for tea..
Milestones Museum is worth a visit prior to the meeting with Wallis & Steevens, Tasker and Thomycroft road steam exhibits on display. The museum has its own cafe for those wanting a snack or drink and there is a Beefeater Pub “The Spruce Goose’’ by the Leisure complex on the approach road.
